Mural Project
The Children’s Museum of Wilmington (CMoW) is thrilled to announce that Stephanie Bagwell from Wilmington, NC has been selected to create the new mural in the Port Wing of the museum. Artists were invited to submit proposals by April 2nd, and a selection committee carefully reviewed each one. After thoughtful consideration, the committee chose Bagwell as the top candidate. The Museum team is excited to bring this mural project to life with her incredible talent!
Bagwell will begin the prepartion for the new mural as soon as this weekend. The Mural is set to be completed by May 18th. Bagwell's past work includes a mural in Novant Health's newly constructed Cancer Treatment Center in Scott's Hill, NC.
The Museum is happy to highlight the critical importance of the arts in our communities by supporting a North Carolina-based artist like Bagwell, as well as introduce children to the endless possibilities of creativity. Join us at the Museum from now through mid May to catch the artist in action.
The mural is made possible by a grant from the North Carolina Arts Council and Arts North Carolina, and awarded through the Arts Council of Wilmington and New Hanover County with matching funds from the Museum. This public art initiative aims to enhance the Museum experience for children aged 0-10 and their caregivers.
